Extremely invasive, uncomfortable, and dirty

Decent location

Our experience with SLEEPOO was extremely disappointing. While we were not expecting luxury accommodations given the inexpensive price, the experience fell far below even our most basic expectations. Despite booking well in advance, we received no communication from the host until the day of check-in, leaving us uncertain whether we would even have a place to stay. Just 15 minutes before our scheduled 4:00 p.m. check-in, the host informed us that the apartment was still undergoing renovations and that workers would be inside when we arrived. We were instructed to drop off our belongings and leave for another 45 minutes before we could actually settle in. After a long day of traveling, this was incredibly inconvenient, disruptive, and unprofessional. Although the apartment itself appeared nice and clean, it lacked basic necessities, including trash bins and soap. The host eventually brought shampoo and conditioner, but we were still left without hand soap in the bathrooms. Additionally, the layout of the apartment raised privacy concerns. There was a window in the living room floor directly above the bathtub in the basement bathroom, as well as an opening in the kitchen that looked directly down onto the basement bed. Given that we were staying with a group of friends, these features made us uncomfortable and offered little privacy. Within just a few hours of arriving, we also discovered numerous black flies throughout the apartment. We immediately notified the host, but no meaningful action was taken to resolve the issue, nor were we offered any compensation. The flies kept growing in number, and having to sleep with insects flying around our heads was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. To make matters worse, we had explicitly agreed with the host on a noon checkout time. However, at approximately 11:55 a.m., while we were still packing our belongings and preparing to leave, a cleaning crew entered the apartment without knocking or providing any warning.
