The staff were all extremely welcoming and friendly, and we had the pleasure of meeting the owners, who were both lovely. The location was perfect, right on the beach with a beautiful view. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the bed was really comfy. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance along the beach. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it!

Laya is like a balm to the soul when returning from the hussle and bussle of El Nido township, or after a long day on the water. It’s a new establishment run by a lovely French Filipino couple and they have created a beautiful space. Its architecture is all curves and made from natural materials, which encourages relaxation right from the start. My husband, daughter and I stayed in a balcony room and had plenty of space, we would recommend a balcony room if possible as it’s nice to be able to sit outside your room if you want to relax without going into communal spaces. Having said that, the communal space is lovely and the pool overlooking the limestone mountains and ocean is a great place to unwind and connect. Laya is right on Corong Corong beach, it’s easy to access other good beach side restaurants by simply taking a walk along the beach, or otherwise a simple 5 min tuk tuk into the main township… so we felt it was a perfect location. The staff were all very friendly and accomodating and we felt very well looked after and at home here. The breakfast’s were simple but delicious and the menu was a blend of western and local food which was all very tasty, we ate on site a few times over our stay! We would highly recommend staying at Laya and wish Tom and Amy ( English translations!) all the best with this new venture. We have no doubt they it will be a success!
