I stayed for a night in the 47 Udawalawe. My room was big with 2 large bed. These have been very comfortable, I am a big guy and have sometimes problem with uncomfortable bed. The room had also a couch with a large screen. To cool down, you can choose between fans and AC, which can be controlled via remote control. Thus, you can adjust your room temperature as you like it! Bathroom was nice and modern with hot water and good water pressure.
Outside is a small pool for refreshing. As Sri Lankan people are not generally trained to swim, the pool is not very deep, but it is big enough to turn some rounds.
You get definitetively something for your money here!
As far as I can judge it, you may walk a bit to get to the next shops, but they are still in walking distance.

Lovely apartment style stay with thoughtful amenities. The tea station and traditional Sri Lankan style breakfast were a wonderful touch We had a welcome drink too.. The modern bathroom was excellent, with a touch-screen mirror, hair dryer, and toiletries provided. The shower had surprisingly strong water pressure despite the dry location. Very comfortable and well equipped
