Worst experience yet reserving a property abroad and dealing with a rude property owner.
Nothing. I never got to the apartment because the address I was provided was not the address of the location and the property manager took 2 hrs before getting ahold of him.
I never made it to the property. I arrived at the address Booking.com listed, which did not match the pinpoint on the map when I reserved the rental. When I couldn’t find the place, I had to call several numbers. I even had to use another person's phone to get ahold of the property owner because they were not on WhatsApp. It took two hours to finally reach him. Once I asked for the address through someone else who spoke Romanian, he gave us a location that was about 15 to 18 minutes north of the address I had booked under.Instead of being understanding and offering to help, or accommodating me for the taxi expense and the two hours it took to reach him, he had an attitude and said, “What do you want me to do about it?” When I asked for a refund, he told me to deal with Booking.com. I hung up and reached out to Booking.com customer service. I explained everything, offered to provide proof of the mismatched locations, and described how rude and unhelpful the property manager was.I was told that, per policy, they needed to contact the property manager to either accept or deny the refund. After having to find another hotel to book at midnight, I received an email stating that my refund was denied.I do not recommend staying at this property, nor would I advise relying on Booking.com to support customers
