Horrible experience – would not recommend
The location and the view from the apartment.
The check-in experience was absolutely terrible. Initially, we couldn’t find the keys in the designated key box, so we contacted the host, who instructed us to check another box, where we eventually found a key. However, the key fob didn’t work, leaving us stranded outside the building with all our luggage. We had to call the host again, understandably frustrated, only to receive the response: “Thousands have checked in using this key fob without any issues. It must be something you’re doing wrong.” This was extremely unhelpful and dismissive. We eventually had to ask a resident to let us into the building. It turned out that the original key had been left inside the apartment by the cleaner all along.
The cleanliness of the flat was equally disappointing. There were numerous stains on the walls, carpet, and even the bedding. The spoons and cutlery were extremely dirty, and the bathroom clearly needed a deep clean. A slipper and a juice bottle had also been left behind in the apartment, apparently “forgotten by the cleaner.” There was no hand soap in the bathroom, and we were provided with only two bath towels and no face towels. When we requested face towels from the host, they were left on the floor outside the flat door because we were still outside the building at the time.
Another particularly disturbing incident occurred one morning while we were sleeping. We heard the apartment door open, followed by footsteps inside the flat, which was genuinely terrifying. When we got up to investigate, we found a plastic bag containing face towels inside the apartment. We contacted the host, who initially had no idea what had happened, but later confirmed that the cleaner had entered the flat. This was completely unacceptable, as we had never given permission for anyone to enter the apartment while we were staying there. The host eventually apologized, but that did not change how unsettling the experience was.
On top of all this, the listing was misleading.
