Originally built as a poorhouse and orphanage for the County of Pappenheim, this Baroque, seven-axis building with its imposing mansard roof has been owned by the same family for seven generations. The house was carefully renovated, and the vacation apartment was completed in June 2026.
Stylishly and comfortably furnished, this quiet and light-filled apartment (45 m²) on the first floor of the house is perfect for up to two people to enjoy their vacation.
The apartment features a cozy bedroom with a double bed. In the living/dining room, you’ll find a dining area for up to four people as well as a sleeper sofa for two. The small but well-equipped kitchenette in the hallway features a hot plate, refrigerator, electric kettle, toaster, and all the other utensils you need to prepare breakfast or a light meal.
You’re right in the heart of the Altmühl Valley! In Pappenheim, nestled in a romantic bend of the Altmühl River and surrounded by rolling hills covered in mixed forests, you’ll also experience over 1,200 years of German history. Let yourself be enchanted by the medieval streets, the charming houses, shops, and unique historic landmarks, and enjoy the specialties of Franconian cuisine here. There are plenty of ways to enjoy your free time. The Franconian Lake District, the Limes, the Roman baths, and many other sights and cultural attractions are just a short distance away. Augsburg, Nuremberg, Ingolstadt, or Munich—these cities can all be explored on day trips from Pappenheim.
By the way: Pappenheim has one of the most beautiful outdoor swimming pools in Bavaria! A 50-meter pool, an adventure slide, and—above all—the beautiful, spacious sunbathing lawns with their mature, natural trees make for a wonderful place to relax between excursions.
