We did not stay at this property because we had serious concerns about security when we arrived.
Before arrival I specifically asked through Booking.com which parts of the property were shared and about the bathroom arrangements. I was told that “the flat is en-suite”. What we found on arrival was not what we had understood from that description.
The rooms allocated to us did not have their own lockable entrance separating them from the other areas of the property. This meant we were reliant on the main external front door for security. We were very concerned by the condition of that door and its locking mechanism and did not believe we could securely leave ourselves or our belongings in the accommodation. We took photographs and video of the door and lock at the time.
There were other rooms within the property which were not part of our booking. To be completely fair to the owner, these rooms were not advertised as part of the flat. However, because our accommodation was not securely separated from these areas, their condition added to our concerns. One contained an unmade bed, used cups, drinks, food packaging and considerable clutter, while another was piled with bedding, bags and other items. We also photographed these areas.
We decided immediately that we were not comfortable staying and left without spending the night.
This review reflects only what we personally found and observed when we arrived. Based on our experience, we could not recommend the accommodation, principally because we did not consider the security arrangements adequate.
