Disappointing experience
The house itself is fine and the swimming pool is nice, but unfortunately our overall experience was very disappointing.
First of all, the level of cleanliness was below what you would expect from a villa like this. It felt as though only the absolute minimum cleaning had been done. When we arrived, all the windows were very dirty.
Another major issue was the lack of privacy. Cleaning staff would enter the property unannounced, sometimes up to four times a day. Instead of feeling like a cleaning service, it gave us the uncomfortable impression that we were constantly being checked on.
Even more concerning was what happened around the swimming pool. Staff responsible for maintenance underneath the pool would simply enter the property and walk into the pool area without any warning, even while my wife and children were swimming. There seemed to be very little consideration for our privacy as a family.
On one occasion, after carrying out work near the pool, staff left an access pit completely open and did not replace the cover or even inform us about it. This was extremely unsafe. We had children staying at the property, and a small child could easily have fallen into it. In my opinion, this is a serious safety issue.
The location was another major disappointment. The location initially provided to us was not the actual location of the villa. Only after we arrived were we given the real location, which turned out to be much further away, in a remote small village/settlement. This felt very misleading.
The property is very isolated and the access road is in extremely poor condition. It is difficult to reach with a normal car, and travelling to the city centre takes approximately 40 minutes. There is also a lot of construction taking place in the surrounding area, which causes noise during the day.
Check-in was another frustration. We had to wait until approximately 18:00 before we could enter the property, while at departure we were expected to check out by 12:00.
What disappointed us most was that the reality did not match the impression we had when making the booking.
