Unable to check in due to no onsite parking provided as promised. Not even nearby parking available. No apology or refun
The property provides inaccurate and misleading information about parking. The listing states that free public onsite parking is available, but does not clearly disclose that parking is not guaranteed. Before the reservation became non-refundable, I specifically contacted the property to confirm that onsite parking was available, and they confirmed that it was.
However, when I arrived, there was no available onsite parking. The property is on a residential street with private homes, and nearby street parking was also fully occupied, as shown in my photos. I could not find a safe and available place to park and therefore could not check in.
I made multiple attempts to resolve the issue. The property refused to move the car occupying its onsite parking area and did not answer my questions about whether I could safely park farther away or in front of other people's houses without being towed. They repeatedly said there was street parking, without providing a specific available location or practical solution. I also asked for a refund because the advertised onsite parking was unavailable, but received no response that day.
I had to book another hotel later that day at additional cost. At the time of writing, I still have not received a refund or clear confirmation regarding my refund request. I have also received no apology from the property. Booking.com is currently investigating the matter and communicating with the property.
Overall, I found the parking information misleading and the property's handling of the situation very disappointing. If the property had clearly disclosed that onsite parking was not guaranteed, or had provided a practical parking solution when I arrived, I could have avoided this situation and the additional expense of booking another hotel.
