A Getaway in Our Apartment in the Village Store The natural beauty of the Westerwald and the lovely surroundings of Schönberg, a district of Höhn, invite you to enjoy wonderful excursions, hikes, and bike rides—or simply to relax and do nothing. 
In our completely newly renovated apartment in the village store, you’ll find peace and relaxation. The ground-floor apartment is perfect for couples, small families, solo travelers, and business travelers, and is also wheelchair accessible. Please let us know if you have any needs. 
Discover our expansive forest and meadow landscape in the low mountain range, featuring the Holzbach Gorge, Kroppacher Schweiz, the Westerwald Lakes, and the bike path along the decommissioned Westerburg-Wallmerod railroad line, to name just a few suggestions. The trailhead for the Westerwaldsteig is only about 3 kilometers away from us. Many marked hiking trails are located in the immediate vicinity. Historic towns such as Hachenburg, Montabaur, Herborn, and Limburg are well worth a visit and are easily accessible by car from here.
Of interest to winter sports enthusiasts:
Our town is located at an elevation of about 500 meters. If snow conditions permit, you can walk from here to our Höhner ski slope, which has a ski lift. The ski slopes in Bad Marienberg and Kirburg even feature snowmaking systems.

Here’s a bit about the history of our home: 
Almost 30 years ago, we bought our brick house, built in 1878, and transformed it into a cozy home for us and our two sons. Next door, for about two years, was the village store—a small COOP branch that also served as a gathering place for the older residents of Schönberg.
In 2025, we converted the addition into a comfortable vacation rental.

In the town of Höhn, with its approximately 3,000 residents, you’ll find almost everything you need for daily life. In the business park and in town (about 1 km away), you’ll find an Edeka, a Norma, a butcher shop, two bakery branches, a pharmacy, an optician, a post office, and various doctors’ offices; as well as five restaurants and a gas station.

On-site costs: New, well-equipped apartment in the charming surroundings of the Upper Westerwald for active, nature-loving guests seeking peace and quiet; good connections to the Rhine-Main and Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan areas; Wi-Fi, bed linens, towels, dish towels, and parking included Cancellation Policy: In the event of an emergency or illness, we recommend purchasing travel cancellation insurance. You are also welcome to contact us at any time so that we can work together to find a solution in the event of a cancellation. In general, the following cancellation policy applies: • No charges apply for cancellations made up to 60 days before the booking date. • For cancellations made up to 14 days before the booking date, 50% of the total amount is due. • For cancellations up to one day before the booking date, 20% of the agreed-upon total price is due. • If you fail to show up on the day of arrival, the full amount is due.
