A stone house nestled in the countryside with views of the Florentine countryside and the Certosa di Firenze. The house is cool and free of humidity, and even on the hottest days it’s comfortable thanks to the thick stone walls. The apartment is very cool and dry thanks to the very thick walls. An oasis of serenity. A farmhouse immersed in the typical atmosphere of the Tuscan countryside yet close to Florence (15 minutes from Porta Romana), where you can relax far from the stress and heat of the city; it’s almost always breezy here, and you’ll feel comfortable even on hot summer days. From the gardens, you can enjoy stunning sunsets; it’s also an ideal starting point for exploring much of Tuscany.
The apartment is accessed via two entrances from a stone courtyard. It consists of a spacious living area, a kitchen opening onto a private guest garden accessible via a few steps, a bathroom with a bathtub, and a double bedroom connected to a large room featuring a double sofa bed and a single bed. This room has direct access from the courtyard. The house dates back to at least the 1600s and has recently been renovated in a traditional Tuscan style using local materials such as Impruneta terracotta, travertine, and hardwood floors. It is equipped with a modern, eco-friendly heating system. Guests can dine not only indoors but also outdoors—either in the garden overlooking the Certosa di Firenze or in the courtyard in front of a beautiful entrance arch with a view of the Tuscan countryside. The private garden faces north, making it a pleasant spot to dine outdoors for lunch and during the summer. In addition to the private garden belonging to the “Mimosa” apartment, guests can use the larger garden in front of the house, where we have a ping-pong table and a small 7 x 4-meter pool (1.30 meters deep) to cool off and enjoy the view during the hottest hours of the day. Please note that the last kilometer leading to the house is a single-lane road with all types of vehicles passing through; there is only one slightly tight curve where all cars and vehicles no longer than 6 meters can pass.
We’re just a 15-minute drive from Florence but in the middle of the countryside; the bus stop is 1 km away. We recommend booking taxis in advance and checking the fares. With your own car, you’ll have more freedom, and you can park at Porta Romana (paid parking) and explore the center of Florence on foot from there.
The house’s location is ideal for exploring Tuscany; in addition to being close to Florence, it’s near the A1 highway and the Siena–Florence route, providing easy access to major tourist destinations.
The Municipality of Impruneta charges guests a tourist tax of 1.50 euros per person per day, which must be paid directly upon arrival.
Pets are welcome; please note that the property is fenced and that we have cats.
The underfloor heating is very comfortable.
