Summary:

Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom and room for six: a king room with a harbour view (the bed can split into two singles), a double room, and a sofa bed for two in the lounge. The bathroom has a walk-in shower. Downstairs, the open-plan living and dining room looks across Portsmouth Harbour to Portchester Castle, and there's a private patio garden at the back and an allocated parking space. Port Solent's marina is about 10 minutes on foot.



The Space:

Sleeping

Bedroom 1 (upstairs): UK king-size bed, 150 cm wide (about the size of a US queen), with a harbour view. It can be split into two single beds on request.

Bedroom 2 (upstairs): UK double bed, 135 cm wide (about a US full).

Lounge: a sofa bed for two.

Hotel-quality linen, towels and toiletries are provided for everyone.



Bathroom

One bathroom, upstairs, with a walk-in shower.



Kitchen and dining

Oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine and a Nespresso coffee machine, with pods, tea, milk and sugar on arrival, plus cookware, crockery and glasses. The dining table seats four, and the patio has its own seats for eating outside.



Living

An open-plan room with navy panelling, a corner sofa and a Smart TV, facing the water. On a clear day you can see Portchester Castle from the sofa.



Everyday practicals

Fast Wi-Fi, a desk and chair by the window, fans for warm weather, heating controlled at each radiator, an iron and a hair dryer.



Outside

A private, enclosed patio garden at the back, with seating for four.



Travelling with children

Children and babies are welcome. Both bedrooms are upstairs, and the patio garden is enclosed. There is no cot at the moment; please bring a travel cot if you need one.



Bringing your dog

Up to two dogs are welcome, and a pet fee applies. The harbour path towards Portchester Castle makes a good walk, and the patio garden at the back is enclosed.



Good to know

The house is on the A27, a main road, so there is traffic noise at the front. On-street parking nearby gets busy in the evenings, so the allocated space, a short walk away, is the one to use.



Guest Access:

The whole house is yours. Self check-in is by lockbox from 4 pm, with the last arrivals at 9 pm, and departure is by 10 am. The allocated parking space is at the back of 142 Southampton Road, off Farmlea Road, and a second car can use free parking on Watersedge Road.



The Neighborhood:

Castle View faces Portsmouth Harbour in Paulsgrove, on the north side of the city. On foot: Port Solent's marina, restaurants and cinema about 10 minutes, the supermarket and cafés about 10, Portchester Castle about 21 along the harbour, and Lakeside North Harbour about 24. By car: Gunwharf Quays 11 minutes, Southsea Common 12, and the Historic Dockyard and the Spinnaker Tower 13. Isle of Wight ferries leave from Portsmouth Harbour.



Getting Around:

Cosham station is about 5 minutes by car. Buses on Southampton Road go to Port Solent, Cosham and the city centre. The M27 is close by, and Queen Alexandra Hospital is about 6 minutes' drive.

ID check and deposit: after booking, the lead guest completes a short ID check and deposit step with our partner SafeGuest. You choose either a Damage Deposit of £350 (your card is saved and nothing is taken up front; it can only be charged for a claim SafeGuest approves after check-out) or SafeGuest's No Deposit fee of £40 (a one-off fee paid to SafeGuest). If you can't use the photo ID check, message us and we'll arrange a short video call instead. Please don't send ID documents by email. Arrivals after 9 pm aren't possible, as that is when self check-in closes.

Our own local Blue Puffin Stays team looks after Castle View. Message us on Vrbo any day between 8 am and 8 pm for help finding the parking space, ferry times or places to eat around the harbour. Your check-in message includes an emergency number for anything urgent during your stay.
