The former GDR gas station from the 1950s—a former Minol gas station in the GDR—was completely renovated, modernized, and converted into a vacation rental in 2025 with great attention to detail.
Today, the apartment combines modern, stylish living comfort, a far cry from the cash registers and car accessories of yesteryear, and I’m all the more delighted to welcome you today to my cozy little 42-square-meter vacation apartment with a kitchen, bathroom, living area, and bedroom, and to offer you a small but charming place where you can relax, unwind, and let your mind wander, far away from the stress of everyday life.
The 42-square-meter vacation apartment offers ideal conditions for families, friends, technicians, cyclists, or business travelers. Overall, the vacation apartment features a modern built-in kitchen with a seating area, a modern bathroom, a separate bedroom, and a living room with a smart TV, free Wi-Fi, a closet, and a fan. The apartment is versatile: by default, the bedroom comfortably accommodates 1–2 people, as the high-quality single beds can be converted into double beds. In the living area of the apartment, the high-quality sofa bed can also be converted into a single or double bed. This makes the accommodation ideal for two couples, two individuals, or families with a child, all enjoying individual sleeping comfort.
All beds are equipped with high-quality 7-zone mattresses, ensuring a restful night’s sleep after an eventful day in the Saale-Unstrut region.

The small, cozy vacation rental—“Alte Tankstelle”—is perfect for short getaways, including for families of three and groups of 2–4 people. For 1–2 business travelers and technicians, this vacation rental is perfect for longer stays.
The location offers an ideal combination of tranquility and central access:

• Only about a 5-minute walk to downtown Naumburg
• 10 minutes to the cathedral (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
• 15-minute walk to the “Bulabana” Sports & Recreation Pool with sauna area (open year-round)
• Bus stop just about 25 meters from the vacation rental, providing direct access to the train station
• Ideal starting point for excursions in the Saale-Unstrut region by bike, bus, or train, as well as for sightseeing and hiking
• Parking for two cars is available on the property and in the surrounding area between 10 m and 150 m away.
• Bicycles: A bike storage room is available for up to 4 bicycles.
• The supermarket is a 3-minute walk from the vacation rental (EDEKA with a bakery); a bakery in town is a 7-minute walk away.
For cyclists and active vacationers:
A lockable bike storage room for up to four bikes is available for cyclists. This makes it the perfect starting point for extended bike tours through the Burgenlandkreis region and along the popular Saale Bike Trail.
The Saale Bike Trail is easily accessible and is only about 20 minutes away by bike or about 10 minutes by car.
We warmly welcome you to the Saale Cycle Route—one of Germany’s most charming and diverse river cycle routes, with a total of 403 km of developed bike paths.
Let yourself be inspired by the impressive and diverse landscape along the Saale and Unstrut rivers. Discover breathtaking natural landscapes, idyllic villages, and historic towns. Numerous attractions—such as the Nebra Sky Disk, beautiful parks, water mills, museums, castles, palaces, and monasteries—make every tour a special experience.
The many cozy inns and restaurants along the bike path also invite you to take a relaxing break and enjoy regional specialties at any time.
The same goes for the impressive canoe trips along the Saale River: Passing steep cliffs, castles, and palaces, you can admire the surroundings wonderfully from a canoe or inflatable boat—perfect for unwinding. (Short trips ranging from 4 hours to full-day tours are available)

Welcome to the beautiful Burgenlandkreis—a unique region rich in history, nature, and enjoyment. The cathedral city of Naumburg captivates visitors with its historic charm, the famous Naumburg Cathedral—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—and the idyllic Saale-Unstrut wine region.
I warmly welcome you to my vacation apartments, “Zur Alten Tankstelle & Alte Tankstelle,” which were completely renovated in 2025 and are located in the center of the cathedral city of Naumburg on the Saale. The surrounding area invites you to go on beautiful hikes, discover impressive sights, and explore the region’s numerous wineries during a wine testing featuring excellent Saale-Unstrut wines.
The region also offers plenty of opportunities for active travelers. Boat tours along the Saale, past vineyards, castles, and idyllic landscapes, quickly become an unforgettable experience. For cyclists, the Saale Cycle Route is one of the most charming and varied river cycle routes in Germany and offers ideal conditions for extended bike tours through the Burgenlandkreis district.
, Whether by water, bike, or on foot—along the trails, numerous cozy inns and restaurants invite you to linger and enjoy regional specialties.
, If you’d rather take it a bit easier, you can reach downtown Naumburg in just about 5 minutes on foot for a leisurely stroll through the city. Nature lovers can walk about 20 minutes to the Arboretum Rosengarten city park and on to the Waldschlosswiesen. There, the Bürgergarten forest restaurant also invites you to linger and enjoy delicious home-style cooking.
And for sauna and swimming enthusiasts, the bulabana Sport- und Freizeitbad Naumburg is just the place. It offers year-round swimming fun, a spacious sauna area, and a wide range of wellness and recreational activities, and is just a 15-minute walk from the vacation rental.

Arrival is possible from 3:00 PM to midnight. Check-out is due by 11:00 AM. Other arrival and departure times are possible upon consultation and approval. Please contact us in a timely manner to arrange this, if necessary. We ask our guests to let us know their approximate arrival time at least one day before their arrival date (via WhatsApp or text message). You will then receive the access codes for the key safe either on the day of arrival or one day before your arrival.
