Extremely disappointing experience – terrible handling of a serious problem
The host handled the situation extremely poorly, and I am genuinely dissatisfied with this stay.
When we returned from the beach in the evening and urgently needed to shower, there was no water at all in the entire building. The host told us that the problem could not be fixed until the following morning. This is not a minor inconvenience — having no water makes the accommodation completely unusable, especially in the evening after being out all day.
We had no choice but to move to a hotel only about 300 meters away, at a much higher price, simply because we needed a place where we could shower and have basic facilities. What made the situation even worse was the host’s refusal to provide a reasonable refund for the accommodation that we could no longer use.
The host also claimed that this was a problem affecting the entire area and that there was nothing we could do about it. However, we moved to another hotel just a few hundred meters away, and the water was working perfectly normally there. This made the host’s explanation extremely difficult to accept.
Instead of apologizing and taking responsibility for the situation, the host continued pressuring us to pay accommodation fee. At one point, the host even threatened to call the police on me simply because I was asking for a fair refund.
This is completely unreasonable. If a property is rented to guests, the host is responsible for providing basic essential facilities. When the property has no water and cannot be used properly, the guest should not be forced to pay as though everything were normal.
The most disappointing part was not even the water problem itself — problems can happen. It was the lack of responsibility, lack of apology, refusal to provide a fair solution, and the aggressive way the host handled the situation.
I strongly recommend that future guests think carefully before booking this property.
