Overall, our stay was decent. The location was great, and the room was pretty much what I expected based on the reviews. It was small, but that was something I anticipated, so it wasn't an issue. The common areas were nice, and I appreciated having a comfortable space where I could work. The room itself appeared clean, and the staff were generally pleasant.
The main reason I rated our stay a 5/10 was that we found a large, live cockroach in our room on the second night of our two-night stay. I don't necessarily blame the housekeeping staff, as the room appeared to be cleaned properly. My concern is more about the overall condition of the building and how Marriott handles pest control and maintenance.
Our original room was on the second floor, which felt almost like a basement level, and we also noticed a few other small bugs.
When we reported it, the staff immediately offered to move us, which we appreciated. However, we were moved to the third floor, which didn't completely reassure us given the nature of the issue. No compensation or other gesture was offered for the inconvenience, which was disappointing given the circumstances.
Overall, while there were positive aspects to our stay, finding a cockroach significantly affected our comfort and confidence in the property. I appreciate the staff's quick response, but I would have expected Marriott to take the issue more seriously. I hope management addresses these concerns, as the property otherwise has a lot going for it.
