About this apartment rental
The area surrounding the 550-hectare Lake Arend is a natural paradise. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is the perfect place for you. The lake is open only to sailboats and smaller boats with or without electric motors. You can glide through this beautiful natural setting in a paddleboat. During the season, a paddlewheel steamboat also operates on the lake.
From here, you can embark on fantastic cycling and hiking tours. There are plenty of bike paths, beautiful natural scenery, and—for birdwatchers—a diverse array of bird species (white-tailed eagles, cranes, wild geese, reed warblers, hoopoes, various heron species, etc.). The Green Belt (the former border) is just a few kilometers away. There, you can spot the rare nightjar. During bird migration, thousands of wild geese spend the night on the lake. Reed warblers, cranes, and other bird species nest in the reed beds.
But the Altmark also has a lot to offer historically. The Hanseatic cities of Havelberg, Werben, Salzwedel, Stendal, and Tangermünde are less than 50 km away from here.
