Our guests consistently appreciate the excellent location of our vacation rental. 
Our elegant vacation apartment is surrounded by five castles and is located very close to the fairytale-like Eltz Castle (6 km). Through the idyllic Schrumpftal valley, you’ll pass by old mills on your way to the lovely Moselle River. There are several fantastic hiking trails in the immediate vicinity. 
Destinations along the lovely Moselle, such as Cochem, Beilstein, Alken, and Koblenz (Deutsches Eck), as well as many beautiful spots in the Eastern Eifel like Maria Laach (Lake Laach), Bürresheim Castle, and the dreamy town of Monreal near Mayen, are all within easy reach.
In Münstermaifeld (1.5 km), you’ll find Germany’s largest shop museum, a tourist information center, an outdoor swimming pool, and good shopping options. From there, a bike path runs along the converted old railroad right-of-way through the Maifeld region to Mayen. Three restaurants right in town are available to satisfy your appetite. Fresh rolls are available nearby at two bakeries.
From your vacation rental in the Metternich district—with its restored, quaint quarry-stone houses and courtyards—you can easily reach the neighboring village of Mörz (3 km) on foot or by bike through the romantic Schrumpftal valley with its mills. Here, visitors will find historic Franconian farmsteads, original gates and doors, and old farm gardens. The Hatzenporter Laysteig “Dream Trail” is also just a 4-km walk away. You’ll be rewarded with beautiful views of the picturesque Moselle from the Rabenlay and Kreuzlay. 
The “Eltzer Burgpanorama” Dream Trail, which was named Germany’s most beautiful hiking trail in 2013 (6 km from the vacation rental), Pyrmont Rock Trail (Traumpfad Pyrmonter Felsensteig) featuring Pyrmont Castle, a waterfall, and an old mill (9 km), Bleidenberg Views Trail (Traumpfad Bleidenberger Ausblicke) featuring Thurant Castle and Alken (9 km), Kobern Castle Trail (Traumpfad Koberner Burgpfad) (12 km), "Nette Schieferpfad" Dream Trail near Trimbs (12 km), "Schwalbensteig" Dream Trail near Niederfell (13 km), Ehrenburg, Ehrbach Gorge, and its mills (13 km), Dream Trail: Volcano Park—The History of the Fire-Breathing Mountains (18 km), Lava Dome Mendig Volcano Museum (21 km), Volcano Brewery with beer garden, Klotten Wildlife and Recreation Park on the Moselle (22 km), lots of fun for the whole family :-), Boppard with its beautiful promenade along the Rhine, views of four lakes, and a aerial cableway (25 km)—accessible from the vacation rental via the Hunsrück. Visit Bürresheim Castle near Mayen (25 km), swimming at Riedener Waldsee, the world’s highest cold-water geyser near Andernach (28 km), Geierlay—Germany’s most beautiful suspension bridge (29 km), the Nürburgring (44 km)



Apartment, shower, toilet:

Our guests can look forward to an elegantly furnished vacation apartment, tastefully equipped and newly renovated, featuring a cozy living area, a wine bar, a modern bathroom, and a comfortable kitchen with a dining area. The bedroom is furnished with a double bed and a spacious closet. If needed, the couch can be easily converted into a sleeping area, accommodating two additional guests. The bright apartment faces the west side of the house and invites you to relax on the outdoor terrace. Free parking is available. E-bikes can be stored safely and dry in the bike shed.



On-site fees: Free cancellation is possible up to 30 days before arrival. For later cancellations, the following fees apply: 29–14 days before arrival: 50% of the total cost of the stay; 13–7 days before arrival: 70% of the total cost 6 days or fewer before arrival or in case of no-show: 80% of the total cost The date the cancellation is received is decisive. If the vacation rental can be rented to another guest, the fees will be reduced accordingly. Smoking is not permitted inside the vacation rental. Smoking is permitted in the outdoor area, on the patio, and in the garden. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in the vacation rental. No security deposit is required. Free parking is available. Free bicycle storage is available in a lockable bike shed.



Check-in is from 3:00 to 12:00 a.m., and check-out is from 12:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
