Terrible experience, be VERY careful!
We were four people staying for four days, and honestly, we have never had such a bad experience with a host before. When we arrived, the apartment was not even properly prepared for us. The sofa bed for two people had not been made, so we had to do it ourselves. Even though there were for of us, we had only 3 pillows, so one of us slept on a shirt. Towels had weird marks on them. The floor was dusty (after walking on it for a few minutes we got so much dirt on our socks that we decided it's better to walk with the shoes on) and the windows were probably never cleand. The dishes were dirty, so we had to wash them by hand before using them. The balcony was extremely dirty, full of dust and cobwebs. And yet, we were expected to leave the apartment perfectly clean. We were given only TWO rolls of toilet paper for four people for four days. There were no coffee capsules for the coffee machine and no dishwasher tablets either. It is ridiculous to expect guests to clean everything before leaving when the apartment itself was not even properly clean when we arrived.
But the worst part was the €200 deposit. The host sent us a long list of cleaning instructions only the evening before checkout. We still washed the dishes and cleaned the kitchen, but the host kept the ENTIRE €200, claiming that we had left the apartment dirty. The only thing we did not do was take out a closed bag of rubbish. Keeping €200 over this is completely unreasonable. The deposit was handled through a separate PassPass platform, and the host kept the full amount over alleged cleaning issues, even though his own terms stated that the deposit could only be withheld in case of damage to the property. When we contacted the host to ask for an explanation, he stopped responding and refused to clarify why he was keeping the money.
Think twice before booking this apartment. We paid to enjoy our holiday, not to clean an already dirty apartment and then lose €200 on top of it.
