Fantastic hidden gem

Amazing. Lovely little camper in a peaceful area. Very reasonable price. Warm & comfortable. Immaculately clean. Hosts are incredibly helpful and responsive. Nice, clear instructions are provided. I will absolutely book again next time I'm in the area. Getting into the bed does require a climb, so don't book if that's not possible for you.

I didn’t stay there

Everything If there was an option to rate this as ‘0’ I would. To be clear, I did not stay at the property at all. The owner eventually agreed to refund 50% of what I had paid for the double room, but I still felt this was unreasonable. When I originally booked, the double room was around £40, whereas the camper van was advertised at around £30. I remember specifically noticing the price difference and thinking that, for roughly an extra £10, I would much rather have a proper double room in the house, with access to the bathroom and toilet, rather than having to stay in a very small camper van and walk through the front garden at night if I needed to use the toilet. I therefore deliberately chose and paid for the more expensive double room — I did not book the camper van. When the owner told me at the last minute that the room was unavailable, I was effectively being offered cheaper accommodation that I had specifically chosen not to book. Even if I had stayed in the camper, I would have expected the price difference to be refunded. Instead, I did not stay at the property at all and was still charged around half the price of the more expensive double room. I found this very unreasonable. What concerns me most is that I strongly suspect I would not have been informed about the accommodation change if I hadn’t contacted the owner myself. I was facing over five- hour drive and, at around 11am before leaving home, I messaged to ask whether there was a hairdryer and towels in the room. Only then did he tell me that the double room I had booked had been double-booked and was unavailable, and that I could instead be given a camper van. The owner had not contacted me beforehand at all. Had I not messaged him, I could have driven four hours, arrived after 5pm and only then discovered that the room was unavailable, potentially leaving me with nowhere suitable to stay. He blamed Booking.com for the double booking, but Booking.
