Alternatively, head into the nearby market town of Rye (3 miles), which boasts many independent shops and restaurants. Explore the medieval cobbled streets or while away an afternoon browsing the antique shops or savouring an afternoon tea. For those who want to venture further afield, hop in the car and take a trip to nearby Great Dixter Gardens (6 miles), Bodiam Castle (10 miles), or head into Hastings (15 miles) to enjoy the local seaside attractions.


The front door of this lovingly restored Victorian cottage opens into the welcoming lounge/diner, which features original beams and a wood burner – perfect for curling up on the comfortable sofa on chilly evenings. The kitchen beyond has a stunning vaulted ceiling and is well equipped with everything you may need for whipping up a romantic meal before dining at the pretty dining area, which overlooks the courtyard garden.
