Welcoming start, but quickly turned uncomfortable, controlling, and neglectful

The initial welcome was polite, and the location in Lourdes was convenient for getting around

While the hosts were initially friendly, the stay quickly became uncomfortable, controlling, and neglectful: Exhausting arrival & zero consideration: After climbing two flights of stairs carrying all my luggage from a multi-day trek, the host offered no assistance with my bags (not even the smaller one). Instead, he kept me standing with heavy bags through an unnecessary lecture explaining how to switch off every light, while showing me a broken window shutter that fell before my arrival and remained completely unfixed throughout my stay. Later, when I returned just wanting to shower and decompress, he trapped me in another long monologue about his personal life. Faulty Wi-Fi: The internet was unusable. The host did not know the password; he sent a photo of an endless string of characters, which I carefully typed in, only to find it was incorrect. Safety & lock-out risk: Despite having an entrance key, on my last night I was locked out. I told the hosts at 21:00 that I was stepping out for a quick dinner, yet returned at 21:55 to find an internal deadbolt locked from inside. Having a key is useless if hosts bolt the door from within. Their excuse that they "thought I was asleep" leaves guests at serious risk of being stranded outside at night!!! Unacceptable luggage arrangement & unreliability: Post-checkout, the host refused to let me keep the entrance key to drop off when picking up my luggage. He insisted my bag be left unattended right at the main building entrance door. I could not rely on him to open the door, as he is scatterbrained—I had already experienced waiting 40 minutes outside for him while others inside ignored the doorbell. Atmosphere: Between the micromanagement and stinginess with basic necessities like hand soap, the tension made me avoid the kitchen entirely. I would definitely not stay here again.
