Perfect for the nerd looking for traditional style japanese architecture. I loved the wood work and the privacy of having the place to our selves. Best suited for respectful visitors, that will be gentle with the house. Beautiful. Onsen was a highlight. Giant property, though close to other structures. Bamboo accents everywhere you look. 2 western style toilets.

I'm sure heat or cold would be a struggle during extreme weather. No AC? Heater worked! Bugs didn't bother us, but they were present outside. Getting there, we drove, was a slight challenge.Tight one-lane roads. I'm excited to see the house restored more. There was electrical plug in's but I was worried we would blow a circuit breaker.

It truly was a wonderful heritage experience and we loved the little private Onsen, and the calm and quietness.

We had some difficulty finding the correct place to collect the keys. When we eventually found the reception, unfortunately the welcome was not particularly friendly.I asked if someone could escort us to the property and explain a few things about the accommodation, but although the receptionist came with us, she did not come inside or explain how anything worked. I had originally booked for two adults. Two local friends later joined us, which I openly mentioned at reception, and I was surprised to be charged an additional amount, particularly as nothing extra was provided. The accommodation itself also lacked some very basic facilities. There were no cups, kettle or bottled water, which we found surprising. When we returned the keys at around 9:00am the following morning, we asked whether it would be possible to pay for a small breakfast or even just a coffee, but were told the restaurant was closed and nothing could be provided. Overall, the property itself was wonderful, but the experience would have been much better with a warmer welcome, clearer information and a few basic amenities..

Amazing experience, highly recommend if you want to feel Japanese vibe in your trip. House was so authentic and cozy. It has an onsen. There is mini fridge, microwave and blow dryer.

There was no plates or cups or utensils but it wasn’t big problem for us.

C’est une maison immense, très authentique et chargée d’histoire. Le jardin est joli et j’ai adoré entendre couler l’eau de la fontaine la nuit. L’onsen privé est très agréable et spacieux.

Tout est très charmant mais La maison est très faiblement meublée, ce qui fait qu’elle manque un peu d’âme. Il y a le minimum comme équipement pour manger sur place : un mini frigo, un microondes et une bouilloire. Aucune vaisselle, ou moyen de cuisiner. Pas de machine à laver le linge.
