About this house rental
Escape to Tofte Hytte, a charming cabin perched on a scenic cliffside overlooking the vast blue expanse of Lake Superior. Nestled in the heart of Tofte, Minnesota, this serene North Shore retreat offers unmatched tranquility and a front-row seat to some of the most breathtaking views of the Big Lake herself.
This one-bedroom, one-bathroom cabin delivers true North Shore charm with its warm wood interior and panoramic views of Lake Superior. The gentle sound of waves echoing against the cliffside creates a soothing backdrop as you unwind. An additional sleeping area in the sunroom provides an ideal spot for peaceful summer evenings—perfect for children or a single guest, as the space is more intimate and best suited for smaller sleepers.
Step outside and take in the wide-open lake views from the spacious deck or grab a seat on the viewing bench as freighters glide by. With ample yard space, a fire pit, and outdoor seating, Tofte Hytte encourages guests to enjoy morning coffee at sunrise, yard games in the afternoon, and s’mores under star-filled skies. Fire up the grill for a classic summertime BBQ while waves sparkle below you.

Unfortunately, our stay would have been more enjoyable had the property been completely cleaned..too many things that should have been cleaned up were missed including a razor on the floor from a prior customer, if I had a small child, there’s even a hole in the ground near the fence line where a small child or even an a small adult could slip through and fall right off the cliff, the fence needs to be brought back there or something needs to be done to ensure the safety of all guests. Had I had a small child with, this trip could have been a nightmare. When given the feedback about our issues in the cabin, I was given denial of some of my claims even though there were two of us (two sets of eyes) who stayed there and I had pictures with time stamps in the photo info! I don’t know why a customer would make up something like this but it’s strange to deny even with proof?Apparently two housekeepers cleaned this cabin..and then someone else does a walk through when they’re done cleaning.. is what I registered from the envelope they leave and from what I was told and even that third person misses all these things too…Because of the uncleanliness and the denial of issues I encountered, I wouldn’t book again with Cascade Vacation Rentals.
