Disappointing
What I liked about this homestay:
1. The house is spacious and suitable for a big family gathering. It can comfortably accommodate maybe around 10 pax and above.
2. The homestay provides basic cooking facilities such as a stove, small refrigerator, microwave, kettle, and water dispenser, which is convenient for families.
3. The location is convenient and close to town, making it easy to access nearby shops and facilities.
Areas that require immediate improvement:
1. The upstairs bedroom does not have a louver window and lacks privacy when only covered with roller blinds.
1.1 The wardrobe in the room was covered with thick dust.
2. Every room has a strong mouldy and musty smell, especially the downstairs room which was the worst.
3. The doorknob for the room facing the staircase is not functioning properly. In addition, the shower pipe in the attached bathroom is also not functioning.
4. The air conditioner in the upstairs room (beside the staircase) was not cold even after lowering the temperature.
5. The toilet condition was unacceptable — slippery floor, visible water stains, hair left behind from previous guests, and stains inside the toilet bowl.
6. The living room floor was extremely dusty to the point that our feet turned black after walking around.
7. The living room was extremely hot and stuffy due to poor ventilation. At the very least, a standing fan should be provided if there is no air conditioner available.
8. No towels or toiletries were provided for guests.
9. It is recommended to place clocks in the living room and upstairs area for convenience. Also place a small dustbin for each bedroom
10. The car porch area was cluttered with construction materials (cement, c channel and so on). There were also black oil spill stains on the floor, making the surface slippery and unsafe.
These issues should be taken seriously and improved immediately to ensure future guests do not go through the same unpleasant experience.
