WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
We arrived at the apartment on 26 July at around 10:00 PM and immediately noticed that there was no electricity. The rest of the building and the neighboring apartments had power, so the issue was clearly limited to this property. We carefully followed all the instructions provided by the host, but nothing worked.
The host, Matthew, claimed that the problem was caused by power outages across Malta. However, by that time most outages had already been resolved, and there was no information from the electricity provider about any ongoing planned or emergency outage affecting this property.
The next morning, 27 July, we noticed a new review from another guest stating that they had been without electricity for an entire week and that the host had done nothing to fix the issue. We sent this review to Matthew, who then admitted that four apartments in the building were affected. After that, he stopped responding and completely ignored the situation.
Without electricity, there was no air conditioning, no hot water, no lights, and no refrigerator, making the apartment completely unsuitable for a stay. Given the circumstances and the similar reviews from previous guests, it felt less like an unexpected technical issue and more like the electricity bill had not been paid, while the apartments continued to be rented out.
Fortunately, Booking.com’s Polish customer support was extremely helpful. They assisted us in canceling the reservation and finding alternative accommodation.
The apartment itself was also in poor condition. All of the toilet seats were damaged and coming apart. During the night, one of the bed legs broke, causing the person sleeping on it to fall onto the floor. The apartment was dirty, and the photos in the listing are very misleading and do not reflect its actual condition.
I absolutely DO NOT recommend staying here.

Esto ha sido, sin ninguna duda, la peor experiencia que he vivido en un alojamiento y las peores vacaciones de mi vida. Es absolutamente vergonzoso e inadmisible que un alojamiento se alquile en estas condiciones.
Mi reserva era del 19 al 26 de julio. El único día que hubo electricidad fue el de nuestra llegada. Desde el lunes hasta el final de la estancia estuvimos completamente sin suministro eléctrico, sin que el problema se solucionara en ningún momento.
Durante prácticamente toda la estancia no pude disfrutar de un alojamiento por el que había pagado. No podía cargar el teléfono móvil, cocinar, utilizar la nevera con normalidad, encender el aire acondicionado con temperaturas cercanas a los 40 °C y una humedad asfixiante, ni hacer una vida mínimamente normal. Un alojamiento sin electricidad durante casi una semana no reúne las condiciones mínimas para ser habitado.
Además del enorme malestar que esto nos provocó, tuvimos que gastar mucho más dinero del previsto al vernos obligados a comer fuera todos los días porque era imposible cocinar. Un viaje que llevaba meses organizando con ilusión terminó convirtiéndose en una experiencia desesperante. En lugar de disfrutar de unas vacaciones, pasamos la mayor parte del tiempo preocupados por cómo cargar los móviles, cómo soportar el calor o cómo resolver problemas que nunca deberíamos haber tenido.
Lo más indignante de todo es la actitud del propietario. No solo permitió que permaneciéramos durante días en un alojamiento que no ofrecía un servicio tan básico como la electricidad, sino que además ignoró nuestros mensajes y no mostró el más mínimo interés en solucionar el problema ni en ofrecernos una compensación. Esa falta de responsabilidad y de respeto hacia sus huéspedes resulta completamente inaceptable.
He pagado por un alojamiento que no cumplía con las condiciones anunciadas ni con unos estándares mínimos de habitabilidad. Considero que esto supone un incumplimiento muy grave del servicio contratado.

This was, without any doubt, the worst experience I have ever had in any accommodation and the worst holiday of my life. It is absolutely disgraceful and unacceptable that a property can be rented out in these conditions.
My reservation was from 19 July to 26 July. We only had electricity on the day we arrived. From Monday until the end of our stay, there was no electricity at all, and the issue was never resolved.
For almost the entire stay, I was unable to enjoy the accommodation I had paid for. We could not charge our phones, cook, properly use the refrigerator, turn on the air conditioning despite temperatures of almost 40°C and extremely high humidity, or simply live under normal conditions. An accommodation without electricity for almost a week does not meet the minimum standards of habitability.
On top of all the stress and frustration this caused, we were forced to spend a significant amount of extra money eating out every day because it was impossible to cook. A trip that we had planned and looked forward to for months turned into a complete nightmare. Instead of enjoying our holiday, we spent most of our time worrying about how to charge our phones, how to cope with the unbearable heat, and how to deal with problems that should never have existed.
What is even more outrageous is the host's attitude. Not only did he leave us for days in an accommodation without such a basic service as electricity, but he also ignored our messages and showed absolutely no interest in solving the problem or offering any compensation. This level of negligence and complete lack of respect towards paying guests is simply unacceptable.
I paid for accommodation that did not match the description or provide even the most basic living conditions. This represents a serious breach of the service that was advertised and paid for.
I demand a full refund of the amount paid.
