Comfortable & cozy... but underwhelming experience
Great internet connection and smart TV experience. Bed and sofa very comfortable. Great location, close to great places for all needs. Property is down the road from popular and modern Joburg town called Norwood. If it wasn't for the experience within the property, this would be highly recommended.
To begin with, they were hard to find in order to get access, and we were confused throughout our stay about the roles of the people there. One minute the contact person was the sister, the next it was her house, then she was the agent. The dogs made it really hard to move around comfortably. They had the option to keep them away but kept insisting they wouldn’t bite when they bark and said we should “meet” the dogs so they could be comfortable. However, this didn’t stop them from surrounding our door and barking about 70% of the time whenever we opened it. The kitchen was extremely dirty, and we asked for their cleaner to help. She spent 3 hours in the tiny kitchen but still left it dusty after only cleaning the fridge and microwave, so we still had to rinse everything else we needed to use. The microwave and stove both didn’t work, and they didn’t have an adapter in the kitchen, so we had to swap plugs to test or use their appliances. The shower was tiny, and you could barely move around in it. I highly recommend that the owner regularly checks that the unit is in full working condition rather than waiting for us to keep asking if something works. A checklist would have served them well, along with allocating a person to resolve all the issues at once, even after the night we arrived. Instead, we had to keep contacting them for help until we felt like a nuisance.
