A very disappointing and disrupted family holiday, with the loss of a bedroom, unusable TVs, reduced use of the pool and
The location was good for Santa Ponsa and convenient for our stay. Unfortunately, there was very little else about the property that we felt able to praise given the number of maintenance and quality issues we experienced.
Unfortunately, for a villa costing over €15,000 for one week, the standard of maintenance and preparation was very disappointing.
The main issue was the air conditioning. We experienced unpleasant smells from some units, visible black mould-like marking/deposits around parts of the system, and problems which meant we did not feel able to use the air conditioning normally in all rooms. In Mallorca in August, this had a significant impact, particularly on sleeping comfortably.
We also had problems with the swimming pool during the stay, including cloudy water and concerns about its condition, which resulted in the pool being attended to. There were also other maintenance and quality issues, including damp bedding, poorly functioning equipment and damaged or defective items.
To be fair, Sealand Villas did arrange for people to attend and some work was carried out, but we spent a significant part of the holiday reporting faults, dealing with maintenance visits and managing problems with facilities that we reasonably expected to be fully operational on arrival.
My strongest advice to anyone considering booking this villa would be to contact Sealand Villas before the cancellation deadline and ask them to confirm in writing that all air-conditioning units have recently been cleaned and serviced, are cooling properly and are free from smells or leaks; that the pool has been checked and is clear and correctly maintained; and that the villa’s main appliances and facilities have been inspected and are fully working.
At this price level, I would not simply assume that everything shown or described in the listing will necessarily be in proper working condition when you arrive.
