The location was simply perfect! Santa Lucia is one of Naples’ most atmospheric seaside neighbourhoods, just east of the famous Castel dell’Ovo and close to Piazza del Plebiscito. The beautiful waterfront is only a few minutes’ walk away, with fantastic views of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius.
There are excellent restaurants nearby, a great place to shop for quality food just 100 metres away, and Line 1 metro stations within walking distance.
It’s a wonderful neighbourhood for relaxed waterfront strolls, seafood, coffee and soaking up the Neapolitan atmosphere, generally much quieter than the bustling historic centre.
The flat itself is excellent, comfortable and well appointed, with a lovely, generously sized balcony. A perfect base for exploring Naples!
Constant loud noise from the flat next door, even in the middle of the night. The streets are impressively clean, but that comes at a price: noisy street cleaning during the night. Bring earplugs if you want to sleep with the windows open.

Die Vermieterin ist überaus nett und hat uns proaktiv mit tollen Tipps für Events in Neapel und unseren Ausflug nach Pompeji versorgt. Da wir verkehrsbedingt viel später als geplant ankamen, hat sie dankenswerterweise sehr lange auf uns gewartet und uns persönlich empfangen. Die Wohnung ist sauber, dekorativ eingerichtet und bietet mit einer gut funktionierenden Klimaanlage sowie Fliegengittern in den Schlafräumen einen guten Komfort. Sie befindet sich fast direkt am Meer in einem typischen, älteren Wohngebäude, was einen schönen und authentischen Einblick in das echte neapolitanische Leben ermöglicht. Zur Metro läuft man etwa 15 Minuten, und für die Anreise vom Bahnhof empfiehlt sich am besten ein Taxi (ca. 15 Min. / 20 €).
Kritik ist hier Jammern auf hohem Niveau, da die kleinen Punkte den tollen Aufenthalt kaum geschmälert haben. Die aufgestellten Raumdüfte waren uns etwas zu intensiv, ließen sich auf dem Balkon aber schnell parken. Das enge Treppenhaus in den zweiten Stock ohne Aufzug und die neapeltypische Geräuschkulisse nachts sowie morgens durch die Müllabfuhr gehören zum authentischen Flair einfach dazu. Auch dass das Duschwasser im kleinen Bad etwas langsamer ablief und der Kühlschrank kurz mit Papier fixiert wurde, war absolut kein Problem. Da die Busse etwas unzuverlässig waren, sind wir am Ende einfach problemlos auf die Metro und Fußwege umgestiegen.

Eine saubere Wohnung, Handtücher Bettwäsche war alles top. Küche gut ausgestattet. Gute Busverbindungen in der Nähe vom Hafen.
