Shady, scammy property. ID card requested via Whatsapp

N/A

I received a message from a guy called Vlad on booking that they want me to send them my ID via WhatsApp to share the location details I answered back the next day that I don't feel safe doing that but I am ok to show it there to confirm my identity No answer We arrived in the vicinity and called, a lady answered and said that she won't give accept us until I give my ID card via WhatsApp or email. I told her again that it is unsafe and that I won't and offered again to show my id. She then told me that shw doesn't know who I am and whether I'm booking her apartment to do drugs or commit some other crimes. Also told me she isn't at the location can't come. I offered to show my id to a neighbour but still got a no. Her tone was inappropriate the whole time. High pitched, putting pressure. Then I told her I would like to cancel the reservation. (The booking was also made that cancelation was declared not possible. It was though possible to request it in booking. The host said she would only confirm it the next day, which was again shady. Why not now? She didn't provide an answer to why not now. I told her I would report this on booking and ended the conversation. This was happening at around 5-6 pm as we were trying to get settled and quickly get to the "chestnut festival" last day. Needless to say it messed up the whole day. Had to contact booking support but finally managed to solve it.
