Our booked apartment was unavailable on arrival. We were moved elsewhere, became unwell, and had to go to the hospital.
After what we experienced, we cannot give a positive review of this stay.
Our stay from October 20 to 22 was an extremely upsetting experience, starting the moment we arrived.
When we reached the address provided for our reservation, we were told that our booked accommodation was undergoing repairs because a party had taken place there the previous night. We received no advance notice. We only learned this at the door, upon arrival.
We were then told that there was no other accommodation available in that building. With this information given to us at the last minute, we were taken to a different apartment building approximately 12 minutes away by car. We did not stay in the accommodation we had originally booked.
It was in this SECOND apartment that we became unwell. We developed raised bumps and widespread redness on our bodies, and our symptoms were serious enough that we had to go to the hospital. To be clear, these health problems occurred at the replacement accommodation we were taken to, not at the original property.
Instead of resting and enjoying our trip, we had to deal with an unexpected relocation, physical discomfort, anxiety, and a hospital visit. We were extremely angry and deeply disappointed. This experience seriously disrupted our trip and left us physically and emotionally exhausted.
We cannot confirm the medical cause of our symptoms, but the symptoms and hospital visit were very real. We expect the property and Booking.com to investigate both the last-minute replacement of our booked accommodation and what happened during our stay at the replacement apartment.
Based on this experience, we cannot recommend this accommodation.
