Wild Run River House - Meredith Lodging
This wood-lined riverfront cottage has been updated with spare, Northwest-contemporary styling for a gorgeous gathering space for you and your guests. That luxury extends outdoors, with a large deck and private dock hanging over the scenic Nehalem River, a breathtaking passageway for ducks, herons, eagles, and other wildlife. Since you’re also right on the highway, in five minutes you can be on the beach in nearby Manzanita, giving you fresh and saltwater options for your adventures. Open space, wood floors, warm fir cabinetry, and a large cozy sectional sofa in the great room will invite you to relax together; a beautifully equipped, open kitchen and dining space make it easy to dine in style, inside or out on the deck. The main bedroom has a queen bed with beautiful river views and a private access to the large deck. The other two queen bedrooms share a common entrance in the "bunk house" wing of the home, which has one bed in a private room and two queen-over-queen bunks.
Your private dock can be a launchpad for the home’s tandem kayak (life jackets provided) for a paddle up the Nehalem; this storied river is also a great place for fishing from your own boat, which you can launch and dock at the home. While away an afternoon in the town’s shops and restaurants, check out the spa, wine bar, and shops in Manzanita, or hike Neahkahnie Mountain for stupendous views of the coastline. You’ll be poised to explore the whole North Coast from this convenient location. At the end of the day, you’ll be glad to relax on the deck and watch the evening light settle on the river gliding by.

First, this was a great stay overall. However it lacked a few surprising things that are pretty standard in most home stays. There was no keurig/coffee/tea provided. Most stays include something at least so more of a heads up that you need your own would be best. Second, the beds were great, but there was only 1 bathroom so beware if you have a large group there. There also was no water filter of any kind, if that matters to you. The games were good, entertainment center great. Location on the water fabulous. We really appreciated having the kayak as well!
