I rarely write reviews for accommodation because most places are just average, but Lotus House was genuinely exceptional! I absolutely loved my stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Seoul.
Location and communication: The host was incredibly responsive, always replying quickly to any questions. Before arriving, I asked whether I could store my luggage, and it turns out there’s a dedicated luggage room on the ground floor, accessible with a code provided by the host. You can easily store suitcases of any size there, which is super convenient.
The location is fantastic, tucked away on a very quiet street just off the main streets of Hongdae. It’s really easy to reach from Incheon Airport via a direct train connection, followed by a six to eight minute walk. Even better, the walk is flat, so dragging a heavy suitcase is completely manageable! One thing to be aware of is that there’s no lift. Luckily, my apartment was only on the first floor (second floor by Korean standards), so this wasn’t a big issue for me.
The apartment: I was travelling alone, but the apartment was incredibly spacious and had two beds. The beds were extremely comfortable, with really good quality bedding and pillows. The air conditioning was quiet enough to leave running overnight and didn’t dry out the air, which is something I often struggle with. Even the fridge was remarkably quiet!
Another detail I appreciated was the lighting. There are multiple lighting options throughout the apartment, so you can create a cosy atmosphere or make the entire space really bright when needed. The apartment also gets lovely natural daylight, with blinds that can be opened on two sides. There’s also a full length mirror, which is always a bonus.
The amenities and attention to detail were probably what impressed me most. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the host really seems to have thought of absolutely everything you might need for a trip.
