Hostile and paranoid owner
At first, we thought it was a very nice house. However, when we wanted to cook, we discovered that there were no matches, so we had to borrow some from the neighbour across the street. We really feel that matches are a basic necessity, just like toilet paper and a corkscrew, which were also missing.
And then there was the owner, who behaved particularly unfriendly and paranoid. They accuse us of being unreachable, even though there is no 4G reception in the property and we cannot use the Wi-Fi because there is no password to be found anywhere.
Afterwards, there has also been a lot of unnecessary and unpleasant hassle regarding the payment. Apparently, the owner expected us to use a local Georgian payment method that we are not familiar with and simply do not understand (the owner didn't come to the house to get the money). We have already been to a bank several times, but so far without success. Honestly, what a hassle!
In response to the owner’s reply to this review: their response really says it all! Completely outrageous.
It took us quite a lot of effort, but we eventually managed to make the payment. In total, we went to a bank six times, where a bank employee eventually told us that this payment method is also not available to people with a non-Georgian passport. You have to enter a passport number on a payment terminal, which apparently makes this impossible for foreign passport holders.
Eventually, a Georgian who happened to be at the bank made his passport number available to us, and the bank employee processed the payment for us on the terminal.
Some cooperation from the owner of the accommodation would have been very helpful, but all they could do was bombard us with absurd insults. For example, this is what they literally sent us by WhatsApp:
“You’ll burn in the fires of hell—though a lowlife like you probably doesn’t believe in God. You’ll get your nose smashed in for such antics.”
