Newton Park Country House Hotel

Wardrobe in bedroom a little small. No other hanging option for outdoor coats. Dressing table/ plug socket not positioned/available to sit at and use hairdryer or similar.

The property was really clean, we had a newly refurbished room (or at least it looked new), it was warm and inviting, showers were new and water hot

Some areas were still being updated, but a lot of the old character remains in place

Quiet and tranquil

The food at dinner and at breakfast was very good. All staff that we met were friendly and helpful making us feel relaxed and welcome. Large room, large TV and good bed. Easy parking and fantastic stained glass window overlooking the stairway.

Only one chair (at the desk) for dual occupancy even though there was ample room at the end of the bed to have a couple of easy chairs and a small table. We do not enjoy having to lie on a bed to watch TV. No toilet brush. Plastic bag fastened around smoke alarm sensor. Reported to receptionist who assured s that this would be investigated and corrected. Lack of live TV. Reception is limited to streaming services plus a couple of 24hr news channels.
