THE OFF-SEASON IS THE BEST-KEPT SECRET ON THE GULF
Fall and winter in Orange Beach mean wide, quiet beaches, cool mornings on the trails, and no lines at your favorite seafood spots. Shutter & Shore House is a charming 3-bedroom, 2-bath cottage in the walkable Village of Tannin, set up for easy weekend escapes and relaxing 3–7 night midweek getaways.
THE LOCATION
- Deeded beach access at the end of Meeting Street: about a 5-minute walk, crossing Perdido Beach Blvd at the crosswalk.
- Direct access to the Gulf State Park trail system (25+ miles of paved trails) via Parks Edge Road. Bikes are included.
- Tannin's village center, restaurants, and coffee are an easy stroll away. The Wharf is about 3 miles, with the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo and OWA a short drive.
THE SPACE
Living Room
Bright, open living area with a smart TV and comfortable seating, plus a queen pull-out sofa for extra guests.
Kitchen and Dining
A fully stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook in: pots and pans, coffee maker, blender, dishwasher, and a premium nugget-ice machine with reverse-osmosis water. Dining for the whole group.
Screened Front Porch
Our favorite spot: morning coffee or an evening glass of wine on the screened front porch, without the bugs.
Back Yard
The back of the house looks out over a peaceful community pond.
BEDROOMS
- Main-floor primary suite: king bed, TV, and clothing storage. No stairs needed, ideal for retirees or anyone who prefers one level.
- Upstairs bedroom: queen bed, TV, and clothing storage.
- Bunk room: twin bunk beds with large built-in storage drawers. A fully insulated, air-conditioned space, great for kids.
- Living room: leather queen sleeper sofa.
Cozy Earth bamboo sheets and Brooklinen towels throughout.
Sleeps up to 8. We recommend up to 6 adults plus kids for the most comfort.
BATHROOMS
Two full bathrooms, one on each level. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a hair dryer are provided.
WORK AND STAY CONNECTED
Fast Wi-Fi and a laptop-friendly desk, so you can stretch a weekend into a Thursday-to-Monday trip and take a call or two.
OUTDOORS AND COMMUNITY
- Community pool (shared with the neighborhood; a heated pool isn't guaranteed in winter).
- Outdoor grill and outdoor seating.
- Two beach cruisers, beach chairs, a wagon, an ice chest, towels, and toys: everything for the sand except the sunscreen.
PARKING
Free street parking right in front of the home for up to 3 vehicles, golf carts included. Every vehicle must be registered with the Tannin HOA (we'll send simple steps before arrival). No trailers, RVs, boats, or vehicles with signage. Pleasure Island Parking & Storage is nearby.
GUEST ACCESS
The whole home is yours, with self check-in by keypad. Your code arrives 24 hours before arrival. Check-in 4 PM, check-out 10 AM. Early check-in at 2 PM when available.

My family adored this precious house! In our opinions, it is the perfect place to stay for an Orange Beach vacation. The neighborhood is quiet and safe with the pool being so clean and convenient. Then, you have easy access to the Gulf State Park trails, and the bikes provided were amazing. We took advantage and rode them for miles! Kids loved watching the turtles in the pond behind the house. Beach accessories were so helpful, and on bikes, we reached the beach in less than 5 minutes. The house is beautiful, full of character, and the attention to detail is obvious. Kitchen has everything you need and more. The towels and linens felt luxurious, but the cozy, covered porch may have been favorite! We definitely plan to return!

Perfect location in a quaint neighborhood. A short walk to the beach, pool, great nature walking paths and even ice cream. Super cute home with brand new appliances and kitchen utensils. Very family friendly - we would choose this home again in a heartbeat.

We really enjoyed our weekend. They're were a few minor communication hiccups but other than that everything was great! Adorable cottage, great location! We'll definitely book again and recommend.
