My wife and I enjoyed this property from Saturday to Tuesday. The room was spacious and included a sizeable sofa with a coffee table as well as a medium-sized desk. The queen-sized bed was comfortable and roomy, and we slept well, although the first night our room temperature reached 80 degrees Fahrenheit until we realized the room’s thermostat did not work, necessitating us to occasionally open and close the sliding door to maintain a comfortable room temperature. The room’s bathroom was large and had a nice bathtub. There were other nice amenities such as a large vanity, a pile of clean towels, a hairdryer, a robe, conditioner, shampoo, body wash, and other niceties. The room also had a small refrigerator, stove top, and a convection oven/microwave oven. The staff at the resort were friendly and professional, and the surrounding area is beautiful. Although we did not have a balcony (and that was okay and what we expected), the view from our sliding door was breath-taking. The fertile valley below of tall trees, majestic mountain ridges, and the meandering Cle Elum River was soothing to the senses. There are historic shops in Cle Elum and notable Roslyn where the show Northern Exposure had scenes filmed in this quaint town. In Roslyn, you can view enjoyable movies in an old western building that once was a funeral home. However, there are stores that are closed Monday through Wednesday. Thus, you might want to plan your trip at the end of the week instead of at the beginning of the week. You also have access to an inviting outdoor pool and hot tub, which we did not use.

I did not give the property owner an excellent rating. Instead, I gave the property owner a good rating for one simple reason. Once the property owner confirmed our booking, we either had to agree to a $30.00 non-refundable damage waiver or a $1,000.00 refundable damage waiver that the property owner would refund after five days. The contrast between $30.00 and $1,000.00 is remarkable. When we checked in, the resort charged our credit card a temporary $310.00 for incidentals, if purchased. If there were none, the resort would almost immediately refund us our $310.00. This is standard for the hospitality industry. When we checked out, the resort refunded our $310.00 within hours. To charge each customer the $30.00 non-refundable damage waiver when hardly any users cause property damage is a gravy train for the property owner. Also, this charge was not upfront, and you did not know about it until you finalized your booking. The property owner would be wiser to follow the industry standard or the example of the resort and charge a reasonable, temporary security deposit, returning it after a satisfactory time. While our experience and lodging were top rate, I will look elsewhere first before considering another stay here because of the dishonest damage waiver.
