Bad one

When asked for towels and toilet papers , the customer care guy got into abusive mode , I kept quiet as I had my family with me

Very disappointing and stressful booking experience

I did not get the opportunity to stay at the property, so I cannot comment on the rooms, facilities, cleanliness, or other aspects of the stay.

We had a confirmed booking at Amara Lux Rivage, Wayanad through Booking.com. After the booking, a person contacted me from the property’s official number and asked me to make an advance payment through a QR code that they said would be shared via WhatsApp. I agreed, but after waiting for quite some time, the QR code/payment details were never sent. Later, I received a call from another number. The person told me that our booking was no longer available because the property had given the room to another customer who had apparently booked directly. This was very confusing and disappointing. I questioned how a confirmed booking made through Booking.com could suddenly become unavailable because another customer booked directly. They offered to arrange another accommodation for us, but I did not agree. I asked for a proper explanation and requested that the reason for cancelling my booking be sent to me from the property’s official number. However, I did not receive any such written explanation. I then received a call from the official number. The conversation became heated because I was understandably upset about the situation. During the conversation, the staff member spoke to me rudely and said, “Do whatever you can, we are not giving you anything,” and then disconnected the call. Later, another staff member contacted me, apologized on behalf of the person who had spoken to me rudely, and said that my original booking could still be honoured and that there would be no problem with the room. However, they again asked me to make an advance payment. After everything that had happened, I was no longer comfortable making an advance payment before reaching the property. I explained that, given the earlier confusion regarding my confirmed booking, I preferred to arrive at the property and make the payment there. They insisted that advance payment was required, so I refused.
