Very disappointing – not as advertised
Location is good and check in information is very informative, however, this is the only good thing I have to say.
Unfortunately, the apartment was extremely disappointing and looked considerably more worn and tired in person than it did in the photographs.
The bathroom was so small that it was difficult to move around comfortably, and the mattresses were very thin and uncomfortable. The WiFi router was hanging from a long cable near the ceiling and wasn't plugged in or working when we arrived. We tried to resolve this ourselves, but were unable to get it working.
The most concerning issue was the lack of window restrictors. As the apartment was on the top floor and we were travelling with a young child, we considered this to be a serious safety concern.
Due to the condition of the apartment and, in particular, the safety concerns, we did not feel comfortable staying there and chose to leave and book into another hotel instead. This resulted in additional expense and was an extremely disappointing start to our trip.
We contacted the owner to raise our concerns, but unfortunately the response made the situation even more frustrating. Rather than acknowledging or addressing the issues we had raised, we were completely dismissed and told that these problems had never been raised before, implying that we were somehow wrong about our experience. Following that response, we were effectively ignored and have received no further communication from the owners.
We have therefore submitted a formal complaint to Booking.com and are currently awaiting their response, as we have had no further contact from the owners since our concerns were dismissed.
Overall, the apartment did not match the impression given by the listing and we felt it was poorly maintained and unsuitable for a family with a young child. The safety concerns alone should be taken seriously, and the way our concerns were handled afterwards was extremely disappointing.
We would not book here again.
UPDATE - I have confirmation from booking.com that the owners of this property have ignored them too after many attempts.
