Not worth saving a few euro

Location was decent we had a car so it was easy to access and only ten minute drive from Funchal centre

We were very disappointed. We knew it wasn’t a private apartment thanks to the other reviews, but the misadvertised room is clearly a problem as others in the apartment all assumed it was a private booking. The rooms are all old, musty and not maintained despite the building clearly having some nice apartments. There was significant mold in the en suite bathroom and water damage. The towels smelled very bad and pillows were inadequate. To top it all off the code to the apartment was changed two days into our stay. We came back after being out all day and were not informed of this change! We were stuck outside the apartment and only got in because there was another guests that was there to let us in. The groceries we bought were also stolen by other guests everyday! This isn’t the fault of the landlady but it just made the stay even worse. We weren’t expecting luxury as the apartment was 150 euro cheaper than other stays but we assumed this was due to the fact it’s outside of Funchal, this was a literal dump and very overpriced for what it is. The construction is still going on outside the apartment so you will be woken up at 6am everyday. No A/C so window had to stay open, the shutter on the window didn’t work either and no curtains were available so again if you’re staying in the summer you’ll have light in the room waking you up. Toilet paper wasn’t topped up. The cleaner was lovely and clearly kept the common area very clean and tidy. But you’re better off staying somewhere very cheap and expect the same conditions or add only a little bit more to get an actual livable apartment.

TERRIBLE

the fact i could see my standards myself and I learnt that I never will book a place because it looks ok. So means I will be more self awareness and look after myself to not sleep anywhere because it's only one a night and cheap.

The room had clearly been used before I arrived. I sent photos to the owner showing the condition of the room, but she replied with different photos claiming it had been cleaned. This made me feel like I was being accused of lying, even though I had evidence of the room's condition when I checked in. It was almost impossible to sleep because of the very strong and unpleasant smell in the room. The towels smelled damp, as if they had not been dried properly or had already been used by someone else. There were people staying in the house before me, and all the rooms had keys in the doors. It seemed like someone may have been using the other rooms, or at least the bathroom, even when there were supposedly no guests. Overall, it was a terrible experience. If I had not been so tired after travelling, I would have left and stayed somewhere else. I would like to request a refund, as the accommodation was not in an acceptable condition. LAST and not LEAST: NO TOILET PAPER, not even extra. somewhere around.

Misleading Advertisement and a Total Disaster – Do Not Stay Here

The only positive thing about this property is the location. Unfortunately, that is where the benefits end.

This was comfortably the worst Booking.com experience I have ever had. We paid €120 per night for a stay that wouldn't be worth €60. • Misleading Listing: The advertisement claims you get the "whole place," but this is a lie. It is a 4-bedroom house converted into 5 rental rooms to maximize profit. The living room has been turned into a bedroom, meaning there is no common area, no TV, and no desk. The only place to sit is a tiny two-seater bench in a hallway or two basic wooden chairs in the room. • Nickel-and-Diming: Despite the apartment being empty, they demanded an extra €20 fee just to check in before 3:00 PM. • Poor Facilities: The kettle is broken, the kitchen light doesn't work, and the Wi-Fi signal does not even reach the room. Even though coffee is provided, there is no coffee machine to make it. • Substandard Bedding & Linens: The "towels" provided were 10-year-old, 60cm hand towels. The comforter was thin, smelled of mildew, and was far too small for the bed. The pillows were the cheapest €5 quality and incredibly uncomfortable. • Laundry Issues: We couldn't even use the washing line because the cleaning lady’s laundry was left hanging there for two days straight. Furthermore, no washing detergent was provided. • Security & Management Chaos: On our final night, we were interrupted by other guests knocking on our door because they couldn't find their room. To make matters worse, management called us to ask who we were and which room we were in—clear evidence of total disorganization and a lack of guest security.

Gostei da localização, da limpeza, da vista para o mar e do preço.

Não gostei de não ter WC privada nem de ter televisão no quarto. Acho que era o mínimo. A comunicação poderia ter sido melhor em relação a resolução de dúvidas.
