Very basic facilities but a good location in the heart of Barcelona

Excellent location in the centre of Barcelona. Air conditioning was a relief from the hot weather.

There are no external windows. There are no curtains on a window to the corridor where the light was on all night so made it difficult to sleep.

Extremely Poor Experience

The location

I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with this Airbnb in Barcelona, and I would strongly advise others to think twice before booking. Upon arrival, we were placed in a completely different room than the one we paid for. The room was in unacceptable condition. It was dirty, extremely cold, with no windows, and lacking basic comfort such as proper bedding. The staff claimed that it was an "upgrade" for us. But it was clear that it was not. Communication with the host was extremely poor. We were unable to reach anyone for a long time while dealing with this situation. When we finally got a response, our concerns were dismissed, and we were told the situation was due to “repairs,” which did not seem credible. And they claimed that this room is an "upgrade" for us. But it was clear that it was not. We were forced to spend the night in this unsuitable room. The following day, after repeatedly requesting (at least three times), we were finally moved to the correct room, which was better. However, even then, the issues continued like the internet did not work. And after everything at the end, the handling of the deposit was very concerning. A €140 deposit was taken by card, and although I provided proof of payment and left the room in excellent condition, they are now refusing to return the deposit. They also failed to clearly communicate any requirements regarding keeping receipts or documentation, which feels misleading and unprofessional. Overall, this experience felt dishonest and poorly managed. The lack of transparency, poor communication, and substandard conditions made this stay extremely stressful. I would not recommend this property to anyone.
