The pictures didn’t show the reality

The location

We were exhausted from a long connection and thought we’d get some good rest, but walked into a nightmare. The outside of the apt was filthy. The floor hasn’t been mopped in a very long time. This is very unusual for Japan. Upon entering the unit, the smell of mold was obvious. My companion has health issues and cannot be in such an environment. You can see the water damage in the bedroom closet and the mold in the bathroom. We could not include all of the pics. Four pictures are the limit. All of the door knobs were sticky and the stove appears to be clean, but the knobs have baked on yellow grease and the edge of the stove was in the same condition. The table had some gunk stuck to it. By now you get the idea. There was also the smell of old plastic. There are several “plants” lord knows how old they are. I booked this apartment a few hours before we arrived and immediately reached out to the host. The reasonable thing to do is to charge for the night and issue a refund. Booking made the attempt to reach out several times and didn’t this host didn’t reply to them. I know this because this person was replying to me so the messages were clearly getting through and I was updated by Booking over the phone. We lost all of the money which is totally unreasonable, but found Hotel 72 just a few blocks away. Their rate was a bit higher and we got a huge room. Most importantly, it was spotless. I’m now in a sister property in another city and it’s equally as clean. My suggestion: Don’t chance booking this pigsty. These reviews can’t be real!!!
