ruined

Our vacation was ruined by the property we chose. On the first morning, the water heater wasn't working. I called three different numbers for Haystia (the company that manages the B&B), but no one answered. After two hours of trying, I had to call Booking.com (in England)—even they couldn't get in touch with Haystia. Finally, at 11:20 AM, a message arrived stating that they were looking into our complaint—largely because a young cleaner had taken an interest in our situation. In short, the hospitality was well below an acceptable standard. I shudder to think what would have happened if the issue had been more urgent. Furthermore, the apartment’s layout is third-world: the toilet is in a tiny room measuring less than two square meters, while the shower is in a completely separate room. Who ,on earth , designed this abomination?

A very disappointing experience. This property failed to provide the basic expectations.

That we had to stay for just 2 nights in the apartment.

I would not recommend this property. We arrived in Paris at around 10:00 PM after a long day of travel, expecting to leave our luggage and go out for dinner. Instead, we discovered that the bed sheets provided for our sofa bed were dirty and stained. They had been left on a chair and looked as though they had already been used, making them completely unsuitable for sleeping. When I tried to contact the emergency number provided by the property, the person answering did not speak English and was unable to help. Despite using Google Translate, communication was extremely difficult. I was eventually given a phone number for a property management agency that did not even manage this accommodation. After spending around 40 minutes trying to resolve the issue, I was left without any assistance. When I called the emergency contact again, he became frustrated and hung up on me. As a result, we were forced to sleep directly on the mattress without sheets on our first night. The property only responded to my message through Booking.com the following morning, asking for photos. Clean sheets were eventually provided later that day, but the bed was not made and there was no meaningful apology. In addition, we encountered various bugs in the room during our stay, and the apartment was extremely noisy both from the street and from inside the building. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. Clean bedding and effective emergency support are basic expectations for any accommodation, and unfortunately this property failed to provide either.

6 / 10Average·May 2026
