Dissapointing
Overall, I was quite disappointed with the experience. To be fair, the organizers or property managers did make an effort to assist with the rebooking after the original apartment suddenly became unavailable. They provided information about how to access the new location and how to get there, and the communication itself was acceptable.
However, the main issue is that the accommodation I ended up receiving was nowhere near what I had originally booked and paid for. The original apartment looked completely different in the photos, but due to what was explained as maintenance work related to district heating or water pipes in the area, I was instead relocated to an apartment in a regular residential building in central Munich.
The apartment itself was clean and tidy, so this is not about hygiene or cleanliness. But the overall standard was extremely poor and honestly felt like something that had not been renovated since the 1990s. There was a worn-out bed and mattress, two plastic chairs that looked like they came from a community hall, and a desk that was practically unusable because screws were sticking up through the surface.
Yes, it was possible to take a warm shower and sleep there for one night, but it was certainly not a place where anyone would want to spend more time than absolutely necessary. What makes it even more frustrating is that the price remained exactly the same as for the original booking. No discount or compensation whatsoever was offered, despite the significant difference in quality and standard.
Whether the explanation about maintenance work at the original apartment was genuine, or whether this was simply a way of moving guests into cheaper and lower-quality accommodation, is difficult to say. But overall, the experience felt extremely poor value for money (200 eur for one night), and it is definitely not somewhere I would book again.
