Outdated Basement Unit and Black Mould Exposure
Honestly, given the bad experience we had, the only thing I liked was the location. It's only a five minute walk from the subway station entrance and had many cafes and convenience stores nearby.
First, the booking page did not mention that it would be a basement unit (we would not have picked it if we knew). We went there in early summer so you can imagine how bad the air circulation in the unit was. There was a STRONG dog pee smell right at our front door. The unit and its facilities were very outdated. Everything looked and felt old, and the unit was only adequately maintained. One of the airconds did not work properly, the heater was also wonky. The "free toiletries" were essentially products left by previous tenants and nothing felt intentional in terms of making sure the guests felt comfortable.
Gradually during our stay, we both got sick with symptoms of flu, blocked nose, headache, fever and cough and they just get worse whenever we're inside the unit. We didn't know why until on the fourth day of our stay - MOULD. We never had any experience with mould exposure eventhough we came from a tropical country so when we inspected, only then we saw how there were a lot of spores hidden on the walls especially in the washroom.
We have contacted booking.com and the owner however they could not reach an agreement so I was only given with a travel credit of 15 euros.
I am not sure if this property will continue to be rented out however if you are considering this unit, think twice.
