Undisclosed major, loud renovation - entrance door removed during our stay

Location was the only reason to choose that place.

Wasted July vacation on a condominium renovation that was ending in this rented apartment. The landlord disclosed the major building renovations only 30 min. before check-in, which seemed deliberate. We booked seven (7) months in advance, early enough to inform us and give us a choice about whether we wanted to spend our yearly vacation on a construction site. Once checked in, we had no option to switch to a more relaxing, value-for-money accommodation or submit a Booking.com complaint to seek a replacement because of the busy Jyväskylä Rally period. After several days of renovation noise elsewhere in the condominium, workers completely removed the main entrance door to our rented apartment for several hours without prior notice (which is illegal under Finnish law, see below )* ), leaving the property unsecured and forcing us to stay inside to guard our belongings and listen to even heavier noise. The landlord made no effort to inform us that the main door to the apartment would be removed, pretended they didn't know the exact time, and refused to take responsibility or offer compensation. Next, we had to find out which keys were the new ones. )* Under Finland's Limited Liability Housing Companies Act [Asunto-osakeyhtiölaki, Act 1599/2009], the housing company has a legal duty to notify apartment owners (and occupants) well in advance of maintenance work, especially work as major as removing lockable entrance doors that expose their or their tenants' belongings. Such work affects the apartment's use and safety. According to the Act, the notice should be given early enough that residents can prepare. The only reason for such passive communication on the landlord's part may be greed: not losing a highly priced summer/Rally lease period. Otherwise, the apartment fulfilled its purpose by its location.

Asunto oli siisti. Edullinen hinta huomioiden majoitus oli ihan ok. Viesteihin vastattiin nopeasti, ja erityisen kiitollinen olen siitä, että lapsen unohtunut paita lähetettiin meille jälkikäteen <3

Yksityiskohdissa oli parantamisen varaa. Vedenkeitin oli muovia, TV:n kaukosäätimestä puuttui takakansi, bidee-suihku vuoti (on myös sijoitettu melko kauas WC-istuimesta).
