Room did not match booking

My experience with this stay was disappointing and unnecessarily stressful. Upon arrival, I was given a room that did not match what I had originally booked. The differences were clear in terms of size, layout, and overall comfort, which significantly affected my stay as I had chosen the listing based on those specific features. When I raised the issue, the property initially refused to offer any compensation, justifying this by saying the rate was already discounted. After further discussion, they proposed a full refund only if I checked out immediately the next morning. This was not a reasonable solution, as it would have left me without accommodation on short notice and forced me to find a much more expensive alternative. At the same time, Booking.com confirmed that no agreement had been reached regarding any refund, which made the situation even more uncertain and stressful. Despite this, I was repeatedly asked to vacate the property, which added unnecessary pressure during an already unresolved situation. Only after continued back-and-forth did the property agree to let me stay and offered a 15% compensation, which I ultimately accepted in order to avoid further disruption. While a resolution was eventually reached, the way the situation was handled—particularly the initial refusal to take responsibility and the pressure to check out without a confirmed solution—was far from satisfactory. Future guests may want to take this into consideration and draw their own conclusions.
