Lack of customer care and responsibility - would not go back if it was free.
The location was great, Port Patrick is one of those places that, if you visit once, you're likely to visit again. The lodge ok ok too, but we won't book there again due to the lack of customer care.
The host's are not customer focused. We had lodge problems that were out of their control, but the way they dealt with it was shocking. They lied and covered up the mistake instead of dealing with it in a professional manner. They even sent an email to Booking.com complaining about us before my parents had even finished the holiday. They sent it to me by mistake. I booked the Holiday for my Mother, Father and Auntie. They're all in their late 70's and 80's and have had holiday's in Port Patrick for over 40 years. The first evening didn't go to plan, there was no Gas, meaning no heating or hot water. To be fair, the site engineer was great, he was quick and willing to help. In the end they couldn't fix it and they had to move lodge. No matter, these things happen and a solution was found quickly. But, the problems continued later that week:
Due to space, I'll list the problems: (Lodge owner and Hotel owner are two different people)
1. My parents had to move back into the original lodge the night before they booked out - still no heating or hot water.
2. They got told on the day that they had to move back, no notice was given even thought the hotel owner knew of this.
3. The hotel owner was rude on the phone, he spoke at me, not to me - he was surprised when I spoke back in the same manner and made out I was the problem.
4. The lodge owner told me that my parents had been offered money off food and drink in the hotel as a gesture of kind will, yet they had eaten there the evening before and nothing was said - both the hotel owner and lodge owner were in the bar area that evening, no offer was made.
5. When I complained, they said that my parents hadn't raised ant concerns all week and seemed happy. I told him It's not their nature to make a compliant. Nether own seemed to take this seriously.
