Filthy, germ-infested property. Book at own risk!

The location was the ONLY positive. The property is well located in Sandton close to where we needed to be.

EVERYTHING ELSE was a nightmare. This booking felt like a SCAM from beginning to end. From the main gate to inside the house and outside pool area was terrible. The main gate opens manually (which is fine) but there is no lock. You cannot lock the gate! The garage is manually operated, and only the guy working at the property can open. If you come late and he is asleep or out, you can’t park your car inside the garage. You have to park it in front of the garage with a gate that can be opened by anyone at anytime. When you enter the house you are greeted by this AWFUL STENCH. The kitchen was filthy. The kitchen sponge was almost brown and you can see it has been used for many many months without it being changed. The inside of the microwave was filthy. It was used and never cleaned. Even outside you can see finger prints. There weren’t essentials one might expect to find at this rental e.g coffee, tea, sugar etc. nothing! There was a broom but no dustpan. When I asked why there isn’t a dustpan the caretaker told me I shouldn’t ask him cause he was using it and he left it in the garage. The pictures online is not what you get in real life. The cushions on the sofa had no covers. There was no rug , the tv remotes had a thick layer of sticky dirt. The beds had NO base covers and no mattress protectors. There was no duvet and what was used on the beds were dirty with stains, including blood stains. The blankets were outright dirty, even stuck together on some parts! The bathrooms were even more filthy with no cloth to clean or wipe. We were given a red orange sack for cleaning. There’s no mop, there’s nothing but filth and stench. Things were so bad that we forfeited the second night and booked another hotel. I had what I believed was an amicable conversation with the owner whereby she agreed to a partial refund. Unfortunately, when it came to implementing the refund, we got nothing back. Mistakes happen, the value is to learn from them.
