Nice stay

Overall my family and I enjoyed our stay in Winston Salem at your property.

The only thing that made me uncomfortable was the amount of touches we encountered on this stay.

Although the housing was adequate, it was not enjoyable.

*The agent responded to texts immediately and was very accommodating when we asked to check out a little late due to our schedule. *Location is good - near all the fun downtown Winston Salem stuff. It seems pretty safe and quiet as well. There is a delightful Little Free Library right across the street and some good restaurants just a few blocks away. *The 3 bedrooms are roomy and ALL have king-size beds, which is great. *The front porch would be wonderful in warmer weather.

This piece of information is not a criticism, simply a fact: The only access to the house is a very steep, long flight of unevenly spaced steps from the street to the door (there is a railing the entire way). You must look *carefully* at the pictures of the property and make sure accessibility with luggage will not be an issue for you. I'm sorry to have to leave a low rating. The reasons are: *Poor cleanliness and smells -- When we arrived there were lots of crumbs and bits on the floor and kitchen chairs, food smears on the wall near the stove, and actual chunks of food in the bottom of the dishwasher. The towels left on 2 of the 3 beds were nicely folded but so damp that they needed to go in the dryer before using. There was a thick layer of dust on the air intake vent and on many baseboards. The place has noticeable animal smells especially when the heat blows. There are overwhelming air freshener scents and laundry scents, perhaps to overlay the animal smells. *Poor for mobility or balance issues -- The area rugs have trip hazards such as frayed and curling edges and not being affixed to the floor. *Poor maintenance -- The porch light blinks on and off, so the light could not be left on for safety when coming back after dark. The door lock was set to the default code which is very easy to guess. I asked for the code to be changed and was told that the app was not working and they have ordered a new one. I received no other updates. The renovations mentioned in the property description were poorly done, for example the kitchen sink faucet works backward, ie turn the handle to the right for hot water instead of to the left which is standard; the laminate floorboards have gaps; the dishwasher is tilted; the faucet plate in the bathtub is upside down. In short, although the housing was adequate, this was not a very pleasant stay. I recommend that the property management company steps up their oversight and involvement.
