Worst travel experience we have ever had.
This was the worst travel experience we have ever had.
We were travelling to Disneyland as a group of 2 adults and 4 children. A few days before our trip, I called the host to let him know that our flight would arrive late and that we would reach the apartment close to midnight. He told me this was not a problem and simply asked me to submit the late check-in request through Booking.com.
I did exactly as instructed.
However, while we were on the flight, the host cancelled our reservation because of the late arrival time. He cancelled it when we had no internet access and no possibility of finding alternative accommodation before landing.
When we arrived in France late at night, we found ourselves with four children and nowhere to stay. We called the host immediately. He answered the first call but then stopped answering our calls completely. Even our taxi driver tried to contact him. The host answered him once and then stopped responding as well.
The only reason we did not spend the night on the street was because of the kindness of our taxi driver, who went far beyond his responsibilities and drove us to several hotels until we finally found a room.
The host knew our arrival time in advance, had already agreed to it, and still cancelled our booking while we were in the air. This left us in an extremely stressful and frightening situation with four children in a foreign country.
I cannot recommend this property under any circumstances. If you are travelling with children or arriving on a late flight, I strongly advise you to choose a different place. This experience completely ruined the beginning of our holiday.
